As an end-of-life Doula, you will be exposed to all facets of life- from the cradle to the grave and beyond. There are many specialty areas in your training and this class on Essential oils (Aromatherapy) for end-of-life Doulas, encompasses the entire arc of the human experience. This class will provide tools that can be useful at any stage in our work.

Overview
This class is 8 modules (including a bonus module) and will meet online weekly starting January 19th, 2025, through March 9th, 2025. This class is instructed by Dr. Van Warren, a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, who is also a certified Death Doula. He has an extensive background in Aromatherapy and its applications in our Doula work.

- Overview of Essential oils and the evolution of their uses
- Different classification systems for Essential oils and why that matters
- In-depth study of 20 + Essential oils and Blends for Doulas
- Introduction to the Chinese Medicine Five Element theory and how that applies to our work as Doulas
- The role of trauma, PTSD, and anxiety in end-of-life care and the use of Essential oils for these conditions
- Pediatric care and Essential oils
- Assisting the Transition phase, pain, and pet care with Essential oils
- Grief and Essential oils
- Bonus module - Ear, hand, and foot acupressure for the Doula (with Essential oils)

Dr. Van Warren
My name is Van R. Warren and I have been a practitioner of the healing arts for over 50 years. Forty of those years were spent in private practice as a Dr. of Oriental Medicine where I practiced Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, Integrative medicine, Massage Therapy, NLP, trauma release techniques, and Lifestyle Counseling. I have completed post-doctorate work at Harvard Medical School (Mind-Body Institute) in the study and treatment of stress-related disorders and am a certified Stress and Wellness Consultant/coach through the Canadian Institute of Stress. In these last 50 years of life, I have also studied and taught yoga, Qi Gong, meditation, and many other spiritually centered natural healing systems.
I have worked with thousands of patients just like you with safe and effective natural medicine. With proper education, care, and support, most have been able to live much fuller lives and experience higher levels of health and wellness. I am constantly amazed and humbled by the power of the body to heal when given the opportunity and right nudges. I hope I can be of service to you also.
